Pet-Friendly Hotels at Ottawa Airport

Three of the five hotels at Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport accept pets. The policies below come from each hotel’s own website, checked on 30 September 2026. Where the official site does not display a policy, the table says so and gives the policy listed by booking sites.

Fees and rules in detail

The ALT Hotel’s figures come from the Alt Hotels pet policy on germainhotels.com, which covers the Alt Hotels group. It sets a housekeeping fee of CAD 45 per stay and one pet per room. A pet left unattended in the room risks a CAD 200 penalty. Dogs must stay on a leash inside the hotel and are not allowed in the restaurant, breakfast room or fitness room. Owners can be held responsible for damage. The policy does not state a weight limit or list which species are accepted, so confirm those with the hotel.

At the Hilton Garden Inn, the CAD 125 figure is the fee for a stay of 5 nights or more; stays of 1 to 4 nights cost CAD 75. At the Homewood Suites, CAD 100 is likewise the 5-night-plus fee, and shorter stays cost CAD 70.

The Days Inn website has a pet policy section, but it does not display the policy outside the booking process. Confirm directly with the hotel before booking.

Service animals

Ontario’s Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act sets a customer service standard for organizations with one or more employees, which includes all five hotels. Under it, a service animal must be allowed to stay with its owner while they receive services. An animal counts as a service animal if it is easily identifiable as relating to the owner’s disability, for example by a vest or harness, or if the owner provides documentation from a regulated health professional. The Fairfield Inn & Suites states that service animals are welcome without a fee or documentation, and booking sites list service animals as welcome at the Days Inn.

Getting to the hotels with a pet

OC Transpo allows small pets on buses and the O-Train in a carrier at all times. Carriers must not be placed on seats or block the aisle. The YOW Airport O-Train station is on the terminal’s Departures level, and the ALT Hotel is connected to the terminal by an indoor walkway. None of the four shuttle hotels publishes whether pets may ride its airport shuttle, so ask when you book.
